It's always easy to talk about when some gay pandering female pop star comes out with a sexy new track where she's half naked and gyrating to some dance/pop beat, but I always love when I discover a male singer who brings it harder than the females they are hired to make sweat out their perm. I should also point out that the upcoming Poptronik Festival in September is one of the rare shows that has managed to get veteran and up-and-coming male pop stars to perform on the same stage (check out the EQ Music Blog for more info on that tour)
That being said there's this Australian singer/choreographer named Will Sabin who has just released his excellent new video for his single Wear Me Out, and I have to say four minutes of your time spent watching his video will leave all your divalicious female faves clutching their pearls. Sabin has collaborated in the past with artists like Deborah Cox and Luciana, to name a few, so sexy boy's definitely got the chops to be a solo star. And unlike a few male pop stars who are trying to front the gay electro pop movement, Will's songs are fun and catchy (like a gay Ke$ha). So in honor of Gay Pride in New York City, I say we need to step outside of our pop diva comfort zone and start showing love to our male singers as well, because besides a few like Andy Bell, SIRPAUL, George Michael, Jake Shears, Farrad Mullins, Sam Sparro and Adam Lambert (that I can think of off the top of my head) there ain't that many out there.
Will's self-released debut album Porn Star will drop later this year and the single will be available on iTunes July 20.
