I've been hearing about this movie for quite sometime now, but was hesitant when I heard that Tyler Perry would be stepping in for Morgan Freeman as Detective/Psychologist Dr. Alex Cross (Idris Elba or some other black actor with depth must have been real busy for him to get this role).
In the new film, Cross investigates the bruatal murders at the hands of serial killer Michael Sullivan aka The Butcher (played by a very buff Matthew Fox). As Cross digs further into the investigation, Sullivan decides to send him a deadly message by threatening his wife’s safety. Now obviously beyond enraged, Cross vows to hunt down the killer if it’s the last thing he does.
Not really a Tyler Perry fan (because I'm not for the nigger nonsense he exploits in his Madea movies), but it is interesting to see him play something different for a change that he didn't write, direct, produce, and include a Jesus sermon in.
