THREE NEW CHARACTERS JOIN THE GOOD WIFE

I have been a huge fan of The Good Wife since it's debuted on CBS three seasons ago. Taking a story about a woman named Alicia Florrick (Juiliana Margulies) who gets her professional and personal groove back after being in the center of a political cheating scandal (at the hands of her husband Peter Florrick, played brilliantly by Chris Noth) and turning it on it's head is one of the many things I love about the show (besides the brilliant writing and acting). The season finale definitely left me on the edge of my seat when we witnessed a different side of Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), who took a sledgehammer to her apartment wall and pulled out a bag full of money and automatic weapons, pulled up a chair to her front door and waited for her manipulative and abusive ex-husband (who she ran away from, and changed her identity) to show up.

Some interesting news has been revealed that three cast members will be added to the show, including the actor who will be playing Kalinda's ex. It was already announced earlier this week that actress Maura Tierney (ER) will be joining the cast (she revealed her cast addition on The View this past Monday). Speaking of which, this will be sort of an ER reunion for Tierney and Margulies since they both starred on the show together.

British actor Marc Warren (Mad Dogs) has been cast as Kalinda's ex-husband, and last but certainly not least the always brilliant Kristen Chenoweth, fresh off the recently-canceled ABC series GCB will join the cast in a recurring role as a political reporter. Since Alicia's husband Peter is running the Chicago Senate seat, she will be stirring up trouble by digging into the Florrick gubernatorial campaign. Matthew Perry was on the show last season, and being that I'm hearing he has a new series of his own in the works, I'm not sure if his character will continue in some capacity.

So far season four is shaping up to be the juiciest one yet, and if you like drama, crazy twists and turns, office affairs and watching people be manipulative towards each other, The Good Wife gives you all of that and more. My only issue with the series is that it was moved from it's usual Tuesday night time slot to Sundays last season, which hurt the show ratings-wise. On Sundays CBS has this issue where their sports programming runs into overtime and if you have DVR and you set your timer for 9pm (which is the time The Good Wife comes on) when in fact one week it comes on at 9:20 and the next week at 9:45, it messes it up for the viewers at home. I'm sure that had a lot to do with CSI: Miami getting canceled. All I'm saying is that in general networks need to be more respectful of the viewers who tune in to their shows.
