SIXTH SEASON OF JERSEY SHORE LIKELY TO BE IT'S LAST

And let the church say Amen. Since Snooki is with child and The Situation is fresh out of rehab (and allegedly living with his sober coach while filming the new season), it loks like producers of the hit trainwreck of a reality show are ready to say good-bye to Seaside.

According to In Touch, Jersey Shore, which started filming last week will not return after it's sixth season.

According to the magazine, the cast — which also includes JWoww, Pauly D, Ronnie, Sammi, Vinny and Deena — was fine with the decision to end the series. "They decided to make the most of their final days at the Shore," the insider told In Touch.

A spokesperson for MTV says that as of now no decision has been made whether or not to end the series, but I feel that it's most certainly lime. Individually they can't make their reality shows work, and the thing that made Jersey Shore watchable no-longer exists. Most of them seem to be over the antics, or maybe it's that everyone is growing up before our very eyes. I also heard that Snooki's not even living in the Shore house with them this season and that she's staying in a house next door with Jionni. JWOWW will just sit around pining for Roger to spend some time with her, Deena can't be a mess by herself (but since she has a boyfriend this season that all might change). I'm sure Pauly and Vinny will keep us entertained with their ongoing bromance, and no one cares about Ronnie and Sammi unless they're fighting.

I thought last season was the perfect way to end the show, but I guess MTV doesn't know when to send a show out to pasture. Case in point - look at The Real World. There's another season on the way, and last time I checked who still watches The Real World? I've always said keep The Challenges and just add new kids with your Fresh Meat seasons.
While some people watch Jersey Shore strictly for their messy antics, I do enjoy the little things about the series, which suffered a ratings drop in it's last season (season 5 fell from 9 million viewers to 7.5) such as the interactions between the roommates and the comedic moments they had with each other. It's easy to frocus on them falling down drunk and having promiscuous sex, and call me crazy but I felt the show was about more than that. The guidos and guidettes were more of a family. And who's family isn't messy? So time will tell if some of them will divert back ot their old antics (the cast reunited last week after a whopping 11 months of not filming - the longest time the show has ever spent on hiatus) or if they'll come off like a bunch of nuns. Being that MTV is only allowing one cycle to film this year, the cast most definitely needs to bring it's A game.
