RIHANNA WORKING ON SEVENTH ALBUM
It's no secret that Rihanna is one of the most popular if not overworked pop stars in the game right now. She has released a new abum every year for the past six and a half years of her musical career (her debut album Music of The Sun came out in 2005), and now comes word that she's putting the finishing touches on album number seven.
Never mind that we've seen her out and about practically naked and has been hospitalized a few times (she tweeted a picture of herself in the hospital with an IV in her arm), and recently did an interview talking about how she's lost so much weight and wants her old butt back, the chick's hectic schedule is going to kill her if she doesn't slow down soon.
A few weeks ago I heard rumblings that she has been recording new music in her hotel room (a strategy she used when she was recording her 2011 album Talk That Talk) and word on the street is that the Bajan beauty has booked three studio days in London to work on some songs with EDM DJs Nicky Romero and Burns (Marina And The Diamonds), as well as Eric Bellinger (Chris Brown), Sean Garrett (Usher) and Swedish House Mafia.
In between working on her seventh album, Rihanna will be headlining Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend on June 24 and is kicking off her world tour in 2013.
“We’re going to be going on tour next year,” she recently said. “So this year we’re spending our time planning to make sure it’s bigger than anything we’ve done and something more impactful, maybe something different, so my fans can get excited about it.”
Her label seems to be overworking her because she's a mainstream pop star with a short shelf life and I'm thinking she's the only one keeping Def Jam paid. She can continue to put out music because she doesn't write her own songs, but when you have a hectic schedule where you're promoting your seventh album while you're touring to support your sixth, I'm sure things get quite confusing. I understand she needs to keep churning out albums in order to stay relevant, but since Talk That Talk was a disappointment (the album only had four good dongs on it), maybe she needs to release a Greatest Hits album and release a fresh record in 2014 after she's done with the tour.
