When I first heard that Lindsay Lohan of all people would be playing Elizabeth Taylor in a biopic for Lifetime, I thought it was the worst idea ever. Not because of Lindsay's incompatability on movie sets, but because she looks nothing like Elizabeth. I feel it won't be hard for Lindsay, who is 25 to play older since she has the face of a 45-year-old aged out ex-porn star, but I feel she won't be able to capture the essence of who Elizabeth was. I will say in the black & white pic it does look more like La Liz, but that's only a side profile.
As for Grant Bowler (Ugly Betty) playing Richard Burton, I think that was a wise choice.
