Here's some pretty awesome news. The OUTMUSIC Awards has just struck a three-year deal with the LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA) and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino to have the eighth-annual event recognizing the LGBT community's contribution to the music scene in Las Vegas.
“We are very excited to move the OUTMUSIC Awards to Las Vegas which is one of the top two LGBT travel destinations in the U.S.,” says Diedra Meredith, CEO and Chairwoman of LARA and the OUTMUSIC Foundation. “This partnership with Planet Hollywood, and its parent company Caesars Entertainment, demonstrates a commitment to and recognition of underrepresented LGBT recording artists’ contributions to music and the entertainment community at large. With this exciting move to the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts, we now have a leveled playing field and are excited to see a new attendance record that brings much needed awareness to LARA and the achievements of so many amazing artists.”

According to Brower, Caesars Entertainment was the only casino gaming company to receive a perfect rating from the Human Rights Campaign's annual Corporate Equality Index in 2011, marking the fifth consecutive year the company has achieved a perfect score. The Corporate Equality Index rates businesses based on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workplace policies. “This five-year achievement is a reflection of Caesars commitment to create and facilitate programs and policies that are offered to all of its employees and guests.”
The awards ceremony will be presented in the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts, Dec. 14 -16, 2012.
