After a last-minute half-assed tribute at the Grammy's and another tribute at the American Music Awards, word on the street is that BET will do their own tribute to Whitney Houston at the 2012 BET Awards.
While previous tributes featured other singers covering the pop icons' songs, Cissy Houston will honor her late daughter with a performance at next month’s show.
According to The Associated Press, the 78-year-old gospel singer will be joined by “a few top divas,” whose names are still under wraps.
Besides the Whitney tribute, other celebrities scheduled to perform include Nicki Minaj, Usher, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and other members of the G.O.O.D. Music family, who will make their live television debut as a group. I've still got my fingers crossed for that Donna Summer ribute.
The BET Awards ’12, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on July 1 at 8 p.m. EST.
