CHER IS DEVELOPING A MUSICAL ON HER LIFE AND CAREER
Pop icon Cher recently tweeted some news that will have all her gays GAGGING for the hills! The singer/actress revealed that she is in the process of developing a musical based on her life and three - plus decades in the entertainment industry. The musical will incorporate songs from her career, and three actresses will play her throughout different stages of her life. One actress will play Cher during the Sonny & Cher show days, another through her electronic music years (aka the "Believe" era), and another actress will play her in the present, although, I could easily see Cher playing the third actress.
According to Playbill, the show will incorporate a theatrical conceit that allows all three actresses to talk to one another and perform together. Cher is also involved with the writing process, and as of now has no producers attached to the project. Once theater queens hear of what she's working on I'm sure they will snatch up this idea and throw some of them producer's millions in her direction. In fact, this sounds like the perfect plot for next season's Smash. Create a Broadway play based on the pop icon instead of Marilyn Monroe.
And also, Cher has a few Grammy's and an Oscar under her belt. It's only a matter of time before she'll add a Tony to her mantle as well.
