Northstar, the first openly gay superhero in the Astonishing X-Men comics made history when he proposed to his longtime partner. In the pic above, X-Men #51's cover features the historic wedding as well as the proposal. While this is definitely history in the making, my dream is to see an openly gay superhero on the big screen or with their own TV series a la Smallville or the upcoming CW series Arrow.
