Ever since President Obama came out in support of gay marriage, it seems a litter of hip hop artists have come out with nothing but positive views on the matter. In a recent interview with MTV’s RapFix Live, The "Live Your Life" artist gave his support to people of the same sex who want to get married.
Here's what Tip told Sway: “Just to speak honestly, and being frank, I don’t care. I think that if a matter doesn’t affect your daily life, you shouldn’t take a hard stand on it if it’s not something that directly affects you. If it doesn’t affect you, then what difference does it make what other people are doing with their lives? I think that you should be able to do whatever you want to do. I don’t see how it matters one way or another.”
I'm thinkng off the top of my head, but I could have sworn T.I. made some controversial statements last year in regards to gays. Maybe knocking up his tranny-looking wife a half dozen times and spending most of his life in-and-out of jail has changed his tune. I think instead of rappers coming out with all this support for gay marriage (which is a good thing, I might add), the question we should really be asking is how this will effect the hip hop community especially since they try to act like homosexuality doesn't exist.
