In honor of celebrating 25 years in the music industry as a global pop superstar, Kylie Minogue will release another Greatest Hits album. The album, titled The Best of Kylie Minogue will be released internationally on June 9, and in the U.S. on June 14. For those of you who follow my blog religiously, you are all aware that I worsip frequently at the Haus of Minogue, especially since after seeing her twice in concert (in the U.S.), she is most certainly one of the most underrated pop performers ever. It always bothers me how so many will eat the doodoo of mediocre pop stars such as Lady CaCa, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Britney, but Kylie has yet to reap the same success here.
One of the problems is that she's releasing another Greatest Hits album in such a short time. Her previous hits album, Ultimate Kylie was a double-CD and had many more songs you could sink your teeth into. Sure UK didn't feature Love at First Sight, Slow, All the Lovers and Get Outta My Way, but I already have those songs because I have all of her albums post Fever.
I also feel a little cheated that she didn't at least record some new tracks to put on the album. I love you Kylie, but I don't really see this record selling beyond the hardest of hard core fans who will buy it just because they have to have everything you release. 25 years is definitely a milestone for any artist, but I'm hoping that you give us some of that fierce, classic dance/pop Kylie that's a cross between your Fever and X album.
