KE$HA SHOWS HER LOVE FOR DRAG QUEENS ON NEW SONG PRETTY LADY
It's been a while since we've heard some new music from pop's biggest hot mess (on purpose) Ke$ha. I loved her debut album Animal and the EP Cannibal. I was also surprised at how good a live performer she is when I caught her concert on Paladia a few months back.
Now Ms. Sebert has returned with a brand new song called Pretty Lady, which is about to become an anthem for drag queens everywhere. The track, which was produced by Tom Neville and her singer-songwriter mom, Pebe Sebert, is still in demo form, but I have to say I'm pretty excited for her new album, which she is describing as "cock pop."
“I want to bring the edge and the rawness and the visceral energy of ’70s and ’80s punk rock,” she recently told V magazine, citing Iggy And The Stooges, Rolling Stones and T-Rex as influences on her Cannibal follow-up. “Some people will be shocked. Some will also be excited to know that I don’t just do silly white-girl rap. I’m from the South, I have a lot of soul.”
Being that I recently saw a pic of her in the studio with Iggy Pop, I'm sure we're all in for a big surprise.
Sidebar: If Ru is looking for a new anthem for RuPaul's Drag Race season 5, he may want to give Ke$ha a call.
