JIMI HENXRIX'S ESTATE NOT HAPPY WITH BIOPIC

A few days after the announcement hit the blogosphere that a Jimi Hendrix biopic was in the works with Andre 3000 playing the iconic rock guitarist, word on the street is that the Hendrix estate is none too pleased with the news.

According to reports Dre has already made the trip to Ireland to begin shooting the film, titled All Is By My Side and Experience Hendrix LLC, the family-owned company that manages the late guitar great’s music and publishing, has released the following statement: “ The estate has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation.”

So basically, should the film continue being made, they cannot use any of Jimi’s recordings or compositions. In my opinion, you can't make a movie about a rock star if you can't include the music so at this point maybe they need to have a chat with the estate before they even begin production.
