JIM PARSONS COMES OUT AS GAY

Actor Jim Parsons, known for his role on the hit series The Big Bang Theory has officially come out as gay. The actor, who starred as a gay activist in the 2011 play A Normal Heart and can be seen currently in the Broadway revival of “Harvey,” sat down for an interview with Patrick Healy from the New York Times and while talking aobut his current role he revealed that he has been in a relationship with his partner for 10 years.

“The Normal Heart” resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment, he said. As the production was ending last summer, he heard that the Roundabout Theater Company was considering a revival of “Harvey” — initially with John C. Reilly under consideration for Elwood — and last November the play’s director, Scott Ellis, asked him and Ms. Hecht to do a private reading of the work in Los Angeles.

For years I had already thought that Jim was out, and I don't believe he has never hidden his sexuality or denied it (National Enquirer revealed that he was engaged to his long time partner). During his 2010 Emmy Awards acceptance speech, he also thanked his longtime partner.
