JENNIFER LOPEZ PERFORMS DANCE AGAIN ON AMERICAN IDOL
So last night on the ever so dreadful results show of American Idol, where they spend three quarters of the show dragging out an elimination by bombarding the eyes of America with unnecessary bullshit, J Lo took to the stage and milked her relationship with her boytoy background dancer Casper Smart during her debut live performance of her latest single Dance Again.
Regardless of all the strategic bullshit that J Lo brings as a global superstar (like all the bells & whistles Beyonce uses for her stage shows), one thing that cannot be denied is that when she gets on stage and performs, she truly delivers. It may have taken her over 12 years to get the confidence to tour like the pop star she has wanted to be, but I feel the timing is definitely right for her to conquer the musical world again. To sum it up J Lo is Britney Spears for the over 30 set (except Britney has the better songs).
In other news, there are rumors swirling that the producers of AI are thinking of firing all the judges because their checks are getting too expensive, while the ratings for the show are dwindling. I doubt this is true, but if it is they should have gotten rid of all their asses after season 10. J Lo uses the show to plug her music and show off her outfits, but doesn't give the singers any constructive criticism to help them become better artists. Steven Tyler's antics have become tiresome rather quickly, and Randy is just taking up space on the stage like a big ass black M&M. It's time they all sashay away and get some judges up there who will say it like they mean it like P!nk, and Ne-Yo (since he's a producer, songwriter and A&R).
