I AM SO EXCITED FOR SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE SEASON 9

As someone who is a fan of competition shows, I gravitate more towards dance shows than singing shows. The reason being because there's always some eager wannabe pop star who is ready to butcher one of my favorite songs on live TV. That being said, everytime American Idol premieres it's season I count down the days for it's season to end, because then my favorite summer show So You Think You Can Dance can come on and take over my life.

Earlier this year it was announced that after last season's abysmal season where the ratings were not-so-great, the popular dance show would be undergoing some drastic changes. First to go was the elimination night, which many ahows (like Idol, The Voice, Dancing With the Stars, etc.) happen to have. Instead producers have opted to keep it a weekly show and eliminate contestants on the same day (a la America's Best Dance Crew) instead of wasting an hour of the viewer's time with a bunch of stalling tactics and unnecessary half-assed celebrity performances (take note American Idol).

I was also hoping that Alex Wong would try out again for the new season, but currently he's on Broadway in Newsies, so really he doesn't need SYTYCD. Here's what I am hoping to see this season: NappyTabs (husband and wife team Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo) stepped their game up with the choreo last season, and after the fierce choreography Tabitha came up with for Madonna's Girl Gone Wild video, I've got my fingers crossed they will be a force to be reckoned with in season 9. Wade Robson needs to come back and give us some of those memorable routines he provided the show in the earlier years, and I really hope that executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe will bring Mia Michaels back to the show. Her brutal honesty and memorable routines are sadly missed. I also hope they've stopped with the celebrity guest judges (like annoying ass Lady Gaga among others last season) and squash the side-eye antics of trying to make viewers think that some of the male dancers who are queenier than some of the gays I know come off as straight by trying to proclaim their crushes on some of the female contestants.
