For those of you who missed the Billboard awards last night, here's all you need to know about the three hour awards show. It was beyond boring. So boring they need to change the show to the Billbored Awards. I will be fair to say that there were a few performances that stood out, like Usher's entertaining performance of his latest single Scream, the tribute to Stevie Wonder and the proper tribute to Whitney Houston (Sidebar: what was up with Bobbi Kristina's crooked wig?). Oh and let me not forget about Chris Brown's audition for RuPaul's Drag Race with his 1000th lip sync of Turn Up The Music.
Speaking of Breezy, shortly after his win last night (has anyone noticed how ever since his fight with Rihanna became public three years ago that when he wins he always accepts from backstage?), a few celebrities shared their disgust for the arrogant performer not for his past discressions, but for the fact that he's slowly morphing into the male Britney
Joe Jonas: What happened to people singing live???”
Pink: “One day if I lipsync, I hope I do it as well as him”
Chrissy Tiegen (John Legend’s girlfriend): “Live singing is a helluva thing.”
Chris must be working with an anger management coach, becauseshortly after the tweets panning his performance, he took to Twatter himself:
“Must be too bright outside! I’m finding the “shade” and keeping cool! Love and blessings!”
Sorry, but I totally agree with their comments. Chris sang not one note last night and his miming was so fucking obvious. At least when J Lo does it that's the most acting you'll see from her since she thought she was Selena back in 1998. Usher came out right after Chris and proved that while you will be pitchy at times due to the dancing and trying to maintain staying on key, a lot goes into a performance besides proving to the world that you are a great dancer. And speaking of Pink, her presence was definitely needed last night, especially after Katy Perry thought she was her with the wirework during that pitchaholic performance of her new single Wide Awake. This is why I would never pay money to see someone like Chris or Britney live. Standing up there half naked trying to give me homothug swag realness for 90 minutes in concert is not enough for mer to support you as a performer. If I wanted a confused wannabe homothug, all I have to do is leave my house
And before people get their panties in a bunch over Pink's comments, she has been an advocate against lip-synching ever since she came out on the music scene. She used to go in on celebs who did back when Britney made it her signature. Chris has depended on not singing live for far too long. I think he like many others need to learn from pop stars like Madonna, Kylie, Pink, Lady Gaga and Usher and realize that if you can't hit all the notes in a song, that's what the background singers are for.
