For the record, outside of Melody Thornton, Kimberley Wyatt, and Nicole Scherzinger, I have never heard of Kaya Jones nor did I even know she was a part of the Pussycat Dolls. That being said she has unleashed a music video for her new solo single Boyfriend, which is about her boyfriend having a boyfriend, and she's okay with that.
Here's what she had to say about the video:
“How is it that we’re not okay with watching two guys together, but the moment that you think I’m going to be with a woman, you’re okay with it? We’re attracted to many different things. That’s the message–it’s ok.”
I think we definitely need to smash those hypocritical stereotypes created by horny breeders, and take our sexuality back and embrace it as unapologetic gay men. I love my straight allies, but we need some of those out male singers to embrace this message in their music as well.
I won't be surprised if this becomes a big hit in the gay clubs, and even though I knew nothing about Kaya until now, I'm glad to see she's being who she wants to be on her own terms.
