Over the weekend for their annual music issue, Entertainment Weekly released their list for the 30 Greatest Artists you should be paying attention to right now. While they got a few right with Gotye, Kimbra, Calvin Harris, Adele, Azealia Banks, fun., Fiona Apple and too many more to mention, I wish they wouldn't have included Nicki Garbaj, who has basically snatched everything she's learned visually from Lady Gaga (who is at 24 due to a low-key retreat from the spotlight) and Lil Kim. I am baffled as to why Madonna is not on this list, since she is riding high on her eighth #1 album (which is also #1 in 41 countries). It could be due to the fact that many publications plan their big stories months before it hits newsstands. Also why Rihanna isn't higher than #10, when she seems to drop a new single every week.
