While Sherri Shepherd is busy dancing for her life over at Dancing With the Stars, it looks like another co-host of The View has been keeping herself pretty busy as well. According to TV Line, EGOT-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg has just landed a high-profile role on the hit Fox series Glee.
She will play a character named Carmen Tibideaux, who is a professor at the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Carmen heads over to Ohio to judge Kurt and Rachel’s auditions to enter the esteemed school. Word on the street is that she will be in a total of three episodes during May sweeps.
In other Glee news, there are reports that Lindsay Lohan will be playing herself in the season's final episode. The actress will guest star as herself and will be on a panel judging Nationals.
I figured it was Whoopi who would be on Glee, since she and Sherri are the only co-hosts who are professional actors. Sure Joy Behar has done some cameos in a few comedies, but when we're talking about someone who will deliver the meat and the potatoes on screen (big or small), then there's no one else who brings it quite like Whoopi. I personally haven't watched Glee at all this season (I grew tired of the preachiness and all the stunt casting), but I would check it out for Whoopi. As for Lindsay, just like her messy stint on SNL earlier this month, I really think she's not mentally ready to be back on screen.
