TERRA NOVA IS NOW EXTINCT
So after an early season finale and a future in limbo, EW is reporting that the FOX series Terra Nova has been canceled after 11 episodes. The sci-fi series starred the very sexy Jason O’Mara (pictured above) and the show averaged 10.1 million viewers, which isn't bad at all. I think the reason the show was canceled was that it was an expensive series for Fox to handle (like many other shows in the past like Dollhouse and Dark Angel). my only issue with TN was the fact that it took too long to get going with the characters and we didn't discover other parts of the island until the season finale. I was curious to see where the show would go next season, and it's unfortunate that we will never know.
I'm a bit worried about some of my favorite Fox shows. While I never watched a single episode of House, that long-running series was just canceled. Also Alcatraz is another series that has a great concept but isn't pulling in the big numbers and I've been hearing rumors that my fave show Fringe is on it's last legs. This is one of the reasons why I stick to watching shows on cable instead of network TV because at least they show some kind of loyalty to their original programming.
