Even though the Christian Bale-starring 1992 Disney film Newsies was a major flop at the box office, it's getting a new lease on life in the place where it really belongs - on Broadway. 20 ears later “Newsies The Musical” is getting the best reviews and I'm sure it will clean up this year when the Tony Awards roll around.
The Broadway version stars Jeremy Jordan (Joyful Noise), Thayne Jasperson, Ephraim Sykes, Tommy Bracco, and one of my favorite dancers, So You Think You Can Dance star Alex Wong (who most thought would win his season but a knee injury forced him to resign from the show and get emergency surgery). NYC gay rag Next Magazine has Alex on the cover and had photographer Kevin Thomas Garcia capture these Broadway up-and-comers do a pretty awesome photo spread.
