So shortly after unsurprisingly coming under fire for his homophobic comments in regards to homosexuality on Piers Morgan Tonight last Friday, Former 80's teen heartthrob Kirk Cameron says that he's being slandered by the media and that his gay friends support his comments.
Says Kirk: "I spoke as honestly as I could, but some people believe my responses were not loving toward those in the gay community. That is not true. I can assuredly say that it’s my life’s mission to love all people. I should be able to express moral views on social issues, especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years — without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach ‘tolerance’ that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I’m in the public square. I believe we need to learn how to debate these things with greater love and respect,” and added, “I’ve been encouraged by the support of many friends (including gay friends, incidentally).”
I'm sorry, but I don't see where calling gay people "unnatural and detrimental to humanity" and that "marriage equality undermines the foundation of civilization" is not a sign of loving all people, including those in the gay community. Second, I don't see how you equate the guys you suck off in Griffith Park as your supportive gay friends. I also don't know where you pluck your friends, but I know as a out and proud gay man and friends of mine who are (and aren't) they will not stand for your bigotry and ignorance. I don't have a problem with you expressing yourself since I know as a hard core evengelical where your loylties lie in regards to homosexuality. What people seem to forget before Christianity came along and reared it's ugly, controlling head is that homosexuality was as natural as the summer breeze. Mammals fuck each other all the time without discrimination. Why do we continue to pass judgement on others who don't believe what you believe? At this point I say we give Kirk no more press. Just let him continue to make his shitty Christian films and promote his crap on the 700 Club.
