BRITNEY'S CAMP CIRCLING THE DRAIN TO JOIN THE X FACTOR

After weeks of rumored will-she-or-won't-she speculation, word on the street is that pop tart Britney Spears is getting close to signing on the dotted line to become a new judge on The X Factor.

The 30-year-old pop star visited court on Thursday with her father Jamie Spears and her fiancé Jason Trawick.

Here's what a source told Radar Online:

"Britney's team is almost ready to sign the contract for her to become a judge on X Factor.g Before the contract is signed, the lawyers needed to get approval from Judge Reva Goetz, as all business transactions, contracts, etc., need to get formal approval. Judge Goetz wanted to talk to Britney in person to make sure this is something that she wanted to do, and that she was capable of doing. The judge was extremely impressed and Britney is very, very excited to become a part of Simon Cowell's show. The judge signed off on the deal.

Under terms of the contract, Britney will be paid around $15 million a year. She will travel out of state for auditions, as long as it doesn't interfere with her custodial time with her sons. The boys will be allowed to come to the set whenever Britney wants them there. Her sons are her number one priority. Jason has been heavily involved in the contract talks."

I thought she was in the clear from her conservatorship? Now it all makes sense why she's been acting like a lobotomized robot on stage and in interviews. While I wasn't for Britney being on a show like The X Factor, there are two reasons why I've changed my tune. 1) the media can revive the Britney vs. Xtina feud that played throughout their earlier careers, and 2) this will be the first time we will actually get some thoughts from her that haven't been put in her head by her publicist. I just hope she will be a "say it like you mean it" kind of girl and not love everything that comes across the stage, like Paula Abdul.
