Yesterday Brandy & Monica stopped by 106 & Park to premiere their new music video It All Belongs To Me and also chatted with those two dingy ass hosts Terrence and Rocsi about Whitney Houston, putting their differences aside to record a new track together (14 years later I might add) and a joint tour.
Here's what Monica said about the loss of Whitney Houston: “Devastating is almost an understatement. Even before her death, every night on stage I did tributes to her because I would always remind her that you are the greatest, no matter what place your life is in,” shared Mo. “I think it’s time that people ease up on these entertainers and recognize we’re human beings outside of what we do.”
Brandy added, “I just can’t believe she’s gone. I don’t understand. I don’t think I ever will, but I can only go forward just trying to make her proud.”
What I loved about the interview is that Brandy and Monica learned something that one day Nicki Garbaj will learn, and that is you do more together than divided because in this business when it comes to women superstars, the powers that be will try to act as if there can only be one person that represents an entire genre of music. If Brandy and Monica combine their stat power and work together, fans on both teams will support and they'll be unstoppable.
