ULTIMATE FIGHTER CONTESTANT SAYS GAY FOR PAY PAST WAS A MISTAKE

Shortly after Ultimate Fighter 15 contestant Dakota Cochrane's gay porn past was revealed in the press, the MMA fighter has spoken out about his past career with the website Sean Cody, saying that it was a mistake.

"It's definitely a decision I regret," he told MMA Fighting. "If I would have known what would happen I definitely wouldn't have done it. But I had money issues and I needed help. I went there to do pictures, and they started throwing pretty high numbers in front of me. I didn't really think. It was a big mistake."

But no matter the size of the mistake, it was one he made no effort to escape on the eve of his biggest opportunity. On his audition tape for TUF, he included an introduction that mentioned all about his past. Everything.

"I think it's a little bit courageous for both of us," he said of the UFC's decision to include him on the show. "I could just hide in a hole and no one would know except for the people close to me. And to them, I was up front. I let them know right away so it wasn’t anything that could come back and bite them in the butt. I think maybe they respected that a little bit. I think some people judge against it, some people will be OK with it. Some people will want me to get my butt kicked, and hopefully others will respect what I'm trying to do."

This is why I said he like many others who started out in porn but are looking for crossover success that they need to own their shit. I think if Dakota is willing to admit in his UFC audition that he had sex with men for money, he shouldn't hide because the rest of the world is about to judge him. In some of his comments it seemed as if he was making it as if he had no other choice but to have sex with men (which he reportedly made up to $80,000 for all 16 movies). In my opinion once is a mistake. 16 times means you more than liked it. I also believe that Dakota in fact likes men as well as women. i won't say bisexual because labels are limiting. If you're going to be fully versatile in your movies, no amount of money will make a straight man have sex with another man. I'm a fan of MMA and the UFC, so I will be watching this season real close to see how it all goes down, because if FX is smart they will milk the shit out of Dakota's porn past like they did with Dustin on The Real World.
