After a long hiatus, Halle Berry returns to the spotlight in a new thriller Dark Tide, which also stars real-life fiancee Olivier Martinez.
Berry plays a professional diver that returns to deep waters after nine years after an almost fatal encounter with a great white shark. When her ex-boyfriend (Martinez) presents her with the opportunity to earn a lot of money by taking a couple to swim with the sharks, they soon learn that the monsters that lurk in the deep are more carnivorous and hungry than ever.
With all the Velveeta surrounding this movie based on what I'm seeing in the commercial, it reminds me of Deep Blue Sea, which starred LL Cool J and Thomas Jane, and with the people who produced Into The Blue and Blue Crush behind this, I have a strange feeling this is one of them movies that is better suited for Syfy on Saturday nights, since the recent remake of Pirahna is more up my alley.
