Jeremy Renner steps into the franchise (not as Jason Bourne, mind you) as an assassin working for the same company (Treadstone) that Matt Damon's iconic character tried to take down in The Bourne Ultimatum. I will admit the minute I heard that Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass were not returning to the franchise, I was a bit skeptical that TBL would be a disaster, but when I saw Jeremy hold his own beside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, I knew he was up to the task as a action star in the making. Not only am I looking forward to seeing this film, I'm stoked to see him as Hawkeye in The Avengers as well.
The Bourne Legacy stars Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, Joan Allen, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Rachel Weisz and will be in theaters on August 3.
