JOHN LEGUIZAMO SIGNS DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH ABC

Deadline is reporting that actor-comic John Leguizamo has just signed a development deal with ABC and ABC Studios to create his first comedy series. Leguizamo will star in and executive produce a single-camera comedy inspired by his professional, personal and family life in New York City.

Leguizamo, who is curently touring the country on the second leg of his fifth one-man show, Ghetto Klown (which had a successful run over the summer Off Broadway), recently starred on the NBC series ER and can currently be seen opposite Katherine Heigl in the film, One for the Money.

I have been a fan of John's since To Wong Foo and Sexaholix and being that the TVindustry is more diverse than the film industry (which is on this sequel and remake kick), TV in my opinion is the best place for him to be. I just hope the writing is as sharp as Modern Family and less Work It.
