CHELSEA HANDLER BREAKS DOWN ON THE ROSIE SHOW
Ever since Rosie O' Donnell's talk show premiered back in october, the show has struggled to find it's footing to separate itself from the pack of other Oprah-wannabes that currently plague daytime TV. Since she started doing One-On-One segments with celebrities last month, I have to say this is the format she should stick with. Rosie said she got the idea to downsize the studio into a smaller set with limited guests when she visited Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Her recent candid interviews with Kathy Griffin, Joe Rogan, Suze Orman and Traci Lords have proven that having an intimate conversation without the need to entertain a room full of people is a better format for Rosie, especially after watching her interview with Chelsea Handler last night.
Once the two started to talk about the death of Chelsea's mother and brother, the comic broke down. While I have personally never found Chelsea to be funny, I do love seeing this vulnerable side of her and I love the fact that she has catapulted many other talent comics to instant success, including Ross Matthews, a former intern of Jay Leno's who she is producing his own talk show.
