BRITNEY SPEARS MAY BE JOINING THE X FACTOR

Please God let this not be true. The official queen of lip-synching for your life Britney Spears wants to join The X Factor. A source is claiming to Us Weekly that the 30-year-old pop singer is interested in sitting beside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid every week to tell the singing hopefuls what it takes to be a manufactured pop star where you can tour for six months without even having to sing a single note live and to strut across the stage without busting a single dance move.

So far Janet Jackson and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie are rumored to be in the running to join the judges table, but nothing has been confirmed.

I actually think it's a terrible idea to have Britney join the show. Britney has never had an actual opinion about anything, since she has spent her entire career being a maintream pop puppet where people make all her decisions for her. And if her camp is afraid to allow her to have an actual opinion in interviews since her mental breakdown six years ago, you can't be looking off to the side at your publicist to tell you what to say after you've seen a performance on stage. So if Simon was smart he would hire Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan or P!nk to join the show. They are all talented singers and they say it like they mean it. Big names don't always bring big ratings. If that were the case those many TV shows that were built around a once-upon-a-time big celebrity would have lasted more than a season.
