ADAM LEVINE LAUNCHES RECORD LABEL; SIGNS GLEE STAR AS FIRST ARTIST
Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine is taking his The Voice mentoring gig to another level. The singer has just made his life long dream a reality by launching his very own record label. The label, called 222 Records already has an artist that he will nurture, and it's none other than Glee star Matthew Morrison.
The 33-year-old dropped his debut album last year, and while most would believe it was a giant cricket, his single “Summer Rain“ was a moderate hit, peaking at No. 16 on the Billboard Alternative charts.
Says Mr. Schuester on working with Levine:
“I am excited to be working on my next album with such an incredible singer, writer and producer as Adam Levine. Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together.” – Matthew Morrison.
While I am happy for Levine launching his own label, Matthew Morrison was the last person I thought he would sign. I can see Matthew going into a more Jason Mraz/John Mayer direction, but he's going to need some pretty agressive hits in order to have some success.
Take a listen to Summer Rain below...
