TRAILER TRASH: DARK GIRLS [Documentary]

Every Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm, I listen to a show called Open Line on 98.7 KISS FM in New York City, where they talk about politics and entertainment within the urban community. One of the things I had a pleasure of discovering is a little documentary called Dark Girls, which focuses on the epidemic that the media has on the way society looks at dark skin women in the United States. Very informative documentary and not only do I look forward to catching this film very soon, but I also hope this will teach people to be less ignorant towards people of darker complexions.

I'm also looking forward to the follow-up documentary called Yellow Brick Road, where they focus on light skin women and they way they are treated by people who can't figure out their nationality, something I as a gay man deal with on a regular basis. I can't tell you how many times I hear people say to me, "so what are you?" Speaking of which, it would be awesome if we could get a documentary on gay men who deal with mixed race relationships, and light vs. dark.
