DJ White Shadow, who mostly known in the mainstream music world for taking Madonna's Express Yourself classic, drinking two bottles of prune juice, squatting over a white canvas and shitting out the runny turd that is Born This Way is taking David Guetta and Nicki Minaj to task for their song Turn Me On sounding similar to Rihanna's Only Girl.
Here's the thing. I remember the first time I heard David Guetta and Jennifer Hudson's Night of Your Life song (which is also on the DJ's Nothing But The Beat album) it sounded too similar to Only Girl. The onlything is, Stargate's hit bites hard from David Guetta's earlier work (before he started kissing mainstream ass), so if we're keeping it really real David is ripping himself off. The first time I heard Turn Me On I never thought about the song sounding similar to Rihanna. Not because I've lost my ear for music. I just thought is was a shitty song.
I think when you are a pot who needs to be introduced to the missing kettle, you don't have the right to call anyone out on plagarism especially when your biggest hit of 2011 wasn't original at all.
