Come January 20, it will be a head-to-head battle of the kick-ass action chicks. While some of us are anticipating the fourth installment of the Underworld series (I love me some Selene), Milla Jovovich tweeted to her fans yesterday that a teaser trailer to Resident Evil: Retribution (aka R:e 5) will premiere before Underworld Awakening:
"So I jst asked paul and he said 4 SURE the teaser 4 "RE:Retribution" is coming out on the 18th of jan! I'm sure it will b online. Then on the 20th it comes out in 3D in front of the new "underworld" movie! So there you go folks n now I'm over and out, going on vacation with my family 4 a week! Tweet u later! Xo m"
While I have been a little pissed at Hollyweird for their stunt queen antics when it comes to movies in 3D in order to make a quick buck, I'm more than excited to see the new trailer in the digital format. I've just got my fingers crossed that this film will be as good as the first, because even though I am a big fan of Milla Jovovich, the R:E films have been pretty lackluster, especially Afterlife which relied on too many dated Matrix-style slo-mo action sequences and less on plot and character development. I do like the fact that after five films, we're getting a littlt back story on Alice, who like Darryl from The Walking Dead TV series is a made up character. In fact, I think it would make the R:E series more interesting if they followed the formula of TWD and had some real intense character acting mixed with action.
