LL COOL J TO HOST THE GRAMMY AWARDS
Word on the street is that America's favorite tranny chaser and two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J has been tapped to host the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Here is what the rapper/actor had to say about the gig, since he is the first person in seven years to host the iconic awards show:
“I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night,” said LL Cool J. “I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it’s gonna be a great night!”
One thing I will give LL is that from all them years rapping, he has a definite knack for getting the party started. I'll even go as far as to say he and Queen Latifah (who hosted the Grammy's in 2004) are always a good choice to host any awards show, because they both come from a musical background, and in a time where comics are always kept from really going in on these celebs who take themselves so damn seriously (like Ricky Gervais this past Sunday), you need someone who would be considered "safe" to a larger audience.
So far, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift are all on the bill to perform. Lady Gaga was recently added and will open and close the show with two songs. Hopefully they can get Madonna to perform as well, not only to show these new boring bitches how it's really done, but to bring the ratings. After all, controversy does sell. You can catch LL Cool J getting his action hero on on NCIS: Los Angeles every Tuesday night at 9 pm on CBS.
I hope when during his first appearance on stage, someone plays the following song below as he struts out, but I know it's wishfull thinking.
