JOHNNY WEIR RETURNING TO FIGURE SKATING
After taking some time off to record a pop single (Dirty Love), judge ABC's Skating With The Stars, create a fashion collection, star in his own Sundance reality show and write a tell-all book, word on the street is that Olympic metalist Johnny Weir is set to return to competitive skating.
“I am here to officially announce my return to competitive figure skating in hopes of becoming a member of the 2012 American Olympic Figure Skating Team,” multitasker Johnny Weir told reporters today.
Weir has been training in secret with his trainers Galina Zmievskaya and Victor and Nina Petrenko, and says he has to shed a few pounds to get into competitive shape. “I have about 8 pounds I need to get off me,” the petite star revealed, noting that with diet and exercise it wouldn’t be a problem.
Weir plans to enter competitions in the spring with his husband Victor by his side to cheer him on. The olympian even opened up a bit about being somebody's husband.
“It’s strange wearing a ring everyday, especially when I’m lotioning. It’s beautiful to have someone that’s excited to see you, to cook for somebody. I’m very happy, very fulfilled. I’m happy that I found somebody and I never thought I would. I’m thankful for that everyday and I hope that this is forever and ever.”
I just hope this all gets captured if they decide to greenlight a second season for his reality show Be Good Johnny Weir or better yet a revamped series digging into Johnny's professional and personal life on Bravo.
