THE GAYEST CITY IN AMERICA IS...
The Advocate has released their annual list of the gayest cities in the United States, and while most would assume it would be obvi choices like New York, Chicago and West Hollywood, the #1 answer will surprise you.
So without further ado, I present to you the #1 gayest city in the U.S. is...drumroll please...
Answer: Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Advocate's system is based on everything from the number of gay and lesbian bookstores to the number of elected LGBT officials to the number of International Mr. Leather competition semifinalists -- the Mormon capital of the world is, in fact, quite gay. This year's list, which sought to examine cities outside of the usual New York and San Francisco contenders, also included surprises like Denver (15), Knoxville (#8), and Atlanta (# 9). You can check out the complete list by heading here and below are the top 5
2. Orlando, Fla.
3. Cambridge, Mass.
4. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
5. Seattle
