Do you hear that? It's the sounds of a million peens losing their blood flow. Channing Tatum, who is promoting the new action movie Haywire was asked about his role in the male stripper movie Magic Mike (which is loosely based on his career as a stripper before he became an actor) and instead of pretending we were going to get some European-style taint shots to get plenty of butts (especially the gay ones who will probably make Magic Mike a bigger hit than Showgirls) in some theater seats, the ding ding revealed that there will in fact be no peen shots in the film. Not even in the unrated DVD version? My hopes and dreams have been shattered. The actor says the film will have a hard R, but no hard-ons.
“Hard R. It’s a very hard R. Not NC-17, we don’t want it to go that far. You’ve got a bunch of naked guys. It won’t be full frontal, it’s just thongs or whatever you want to call them and underwear” he tells Collider.
Tatum has also gone on to say that Magic Mike was written to be a comedy.
"It’s a fun movie; we wrote it to be fun. We actually wrote it very comedically and in knowing Soderbergh’s style, he doesn’t punch in for close-ups and he doesn’t shoot in a very classic comedic way, so I think, overall, it will make it fun. The stuff that is happening is kind of outlandish, the characters at times will be bizarre."
Even though the actor says the film will be a cross between Boogie Nights and Saturday Night Fever, it's sad to hear all that sexy beefcake displayed by Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, and Matt Bomer is all gone to waste with a few cake shots. So in the words of Randy from Scream 2, "I'll wait for video."

While I am a fan of Matt Bomer, especially since he is a gay actor (who is out but doesn't scream it on covers of magazines), I don't know if it's enough to get my butt in the theater.
