TRAILER TRASH: G.I. JOE: RETALIATION

Just like the entire Transformers series, I enjoyed all the action sequences in the first G.I. Joe film, but had no clue as to what the fuck was going on. Actor Dwayne Johnson unleashed the trailer through his Twitter page, and while I'm not hoping to see an action version of Shakespere in the theaters next summer, G.I. Joe: Retaliation looks like a definite upgrade from the first film. I just had to accept that I had to turn off my brain for two hours and just enjoy all the eye candy as a fun, summer popcorn film.

Set for release on June 29th, 2012, the sequel is directed by John Chu (Step Up 3D, Never Say Never), and continues the toy-inspired world depicted in 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with a primarily new cast (except for the returning Channing Tatum as Duke, Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Byung Hun-lee as Stormshadow). Newcomers include Dwayne Johnson (Fast 5) as Roadblock, Elodie Yung as Jinx, DJ Cotrona (Detroit 1-8-7) as Flint, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, hip hop producer RZA as The Blind Master, Ray Stevenson (Punisher 2) as Firefly, Joseph Mazzello (Jurassic Park) as Mouse and Bruce Willis (Expendables 2) as General Joe Colton.

Am I the only one who has noticed that Dwayne Johnson has become Captain Save-A-Franchise? He was the nest thing to happen to Fast 5 and now it looks like he's about to do it again with the new G.I. Joe movie.
