It looks like Hollywood is on a 90's Paul Verhoeven reboot kick. With Len Wiseman's upcoming reboot of Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale, it looks like Starship Troopers is the next Sci Fi actioner to get the makeover treatment. Troopers was adapted lookely from the novel written by Robert A. Heinlein and starred Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, Jake Busey, Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Muldoon and Michael Ironside as soldiers fighting a race of giant insects on Earth.
No word on who will star (I'm available), but Thor and X-Men: First Class screenwriters Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz have been recruited to take a crack at the script.
I liked the first Starship Troopers (didn't care for the other two), so with that being said I'm sure it will get a far more brutal send up with better special effects.
