SNEAK PEEK: MADONNA ON ANDERSON; HOST MAY COME OUT ON SHOW

So yesterday Madonna sat down for a one-hour interview with Anderson Cooper to promote her new movie W.E. and of course the convo steered toward her upcoming Super Bowl performance. In theclip below, the singer reacts to her two Golden Globe nominations for Best Original Song Masterpiece and Original Score for the film W.E.

The "Anderson" episode will air in February 2012.

In other Anderson news, many are speculating whether or not the host will come out of the closet. An anonymous source spilled the tea to Gawker that Anderson Cooper may come out during February Sweeps. Oh how Dawson's Creek.

Daytime talk show “Anderson” is having their first Christmas party [tonight], 15 December, at the Russian Tea Room. Anderson Cooper is bringing Benjamin Maisani. And introducing him as his “boyfriend” to the staff. The staff is prepping Anderson’s “coming out” show for the next sweeps. Check the ratings. They’re getting desperate.

While Anderson is in the top 10 as most watched daytime shows not in syndication, he is at the bottom of the list at #10 with 1.7 million viewers (Dr. Phil is #1 with 4 million), which may end him up in the daytime graveyard with another gay host Nate Berkus. So I feel Anderson needs to find his niche in the daytime TV pool, or else he will face cancelation. Taking on more gay issues on his show might also pull in some much-needed viewers. Using your sexuality for ratings is not the move.
