RYAN SEACREST REPLACING MATT LAUER ON TODAY?
Say it isn't so? According to The Wall Street Journal (if it's coming from a paper as prestigious as Wall St. Journal, it has to be factual, right?), there may be some big changes coming to The Today Show. Rumors are swirling that Matt Lauer is looking to leave the popular morning show and that his seat may possibly be getting filled by none other than the man with 1000 jobs Ryan Seacrest.
The paper clains that several NBC executives met with Seacrest Tuesday night (Dec. 6) to discuss him joining the position. NBC execs are looking for someone who may be able to successfully take over matt's position, and being that there aren't many radio and TV personalities out there the only name they can think of is Seacrest.
I will say the same thing that I said when I heard Ryan's name get tossed around as a possible replacement for Regis - hell to the naw! He's making plenty of money on American Idol, his own radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, E! News and producing all those 5,000 Kuntrashian spin-offs. He's been so invested in pop culture fluff for so long, I can't see him giving political commentary and actually having an opinion outside of reading it off of a teleprompter. Let someone else who could use a job get the position...like me. I have plenty of personality and am pretty vers on politics and pop culture. Although I might me too edgy for daytime.
In closing I will say this: It doesn't really matter who they pick, because I don't watch Today unless it's the summer and they have their concert series. Other than that I get all my info online.
