Rumors have been swirling for the past few days that Britney Spears' boyfriend Jason Trawick would be popping the question today. But the 30-year-old singer posted a message on her Facebook page saying that he already popped the question yesterday on his 40th birthday and she gladly accepted. This will be Britney's third marriage and Jason's first.
Says Britney on Facebook: "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."
TMZ originally broke the story ... Trawick had planned to ask for Britney's hand in marriage during their trip to Vegas ... and the smart money was that it was all SUPPOSED to go down tonight. Seems he just couldn't wait!
Or maybe because the media is so damn nosey they ruined his surprise. Sources spilled the tea to TMZ, saying... Jason organized a MASSIVE celebratory dinner tonight at the Chocolate Lounge at the Sugar Factory in the Paris Hotel ... because Brit Brit LOVES chocolate.
US Weekly has more details:
"This is something they've both wanted for a long time," the source explains to Us. "It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife." The spouses-to-be plan to celebrate their engagement Friday night at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
TMZ also says there will be a chocolate fondue and all the men will get chocolate truffle cigars. After dinner ... the gang is set to go to Chateau nightclub and party the night away. Once Jason and Britney arrives, the staff will receive special orders that whatever Britney wants, Britney gets.
Congrats Britney. Based on everything you've been through I truly feel that Jason cares about you and isn't interested in using you for your money or celebrity, sicne he used to be your agent.
