THE NATE BERKUS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELED
Broadcast & Cable announced today that once the second season wraps, The Nate Berkus Show will not be renewed for a third season.
The daytime talk show, which is hosted by former regular Oprah guest Nate Berkus debuted in syndication back in 2010, but unfortunately the ratings couldn't rise beyond the 1.1 million viewers that tuned in daily.
"After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall," producers Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios said in a joint statement. "We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we're very proud of what they've delivered."
Added Berkus: "I'm incredibly proud of my hard working and talented staff, and proud of the show we were able to produce every day."
I always looked at Nate as one of the hottest talk show hosts in daytime (besides my boo Anderson Cooper), and I also liked the fact that he was out of the closet (unlike my boo Anderson). But I guess getting an endoursemet from Oprah isn't enough to bring up your sagging ratings. I keep saying that people aren't interested in boring fluff. Now let's all pray that ABC gets smart and gets rid of The Chew.
