MADONNA FAN ARRESTED FOR LEAKING NEW SINGLE
Things are getting quite real for folks who feel they can leak copywritten material. Most recently a man was sentenced to a year in jail for leaking X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the internet three years ago and now a 31 year-old man Spanish man, who was only identified by his initials J.M.R., was arrested in Zaragoza, Spain, for leaking a demo version of Madonna’s new single, Give Me All Your Luvin' featiring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The “Madonnaleaks” investigation began after lawyers working for Madonna traced the leak to Spain.
Maybe the issue should be that Madonna goes after someone working in her camp who leaked the single in the first place. I love you Madonna, but clearly you're thinking like a greedy exec. Instead of going after your fans, with the fast-paced enhancement of technology, you need to keep a tighter lid on your music instead of criminalizing your fans who are excited to hear you new music. Bad enough you're trying to keep the single under wraps until the last week of January (so that you can perform it at the Super Bowl and leave us with one single before the album comes out), but I just think pulling one of those dated stunts like we're in the heydays of Napster is just plain ridiculous.
