Flamboyant ice skater Johnny Weir is about to go from Olympic winner to blushing bride. In late October, the 27-year-old figure skater revealed on Twitter that his boyfriend, an Atlanta-based lawyer named Vitya Zvesda (in red cap below) had proposed to him and he said "yes."
The twitter message has since been deleted, but in recent interviews, Johnny has been telling anyone who will listen about his fianceé:
“My boyfriend, my fiance now, has only recently come out and he’s 28 years old and it’s been an uncomfortable, rock road for him. We’re in a typical relationship that you would see on a sitcom, only we’re two gay men.” Weir is based in New Jersey but he’s been spotted in the Atlanta-area courting his new beau.
Congrats Johnny. Now can we get a revamped reality show from you on LOGO or at least on Sundance, where your last reality show be Good Johnny Weir resided? How about a show with you preparing for your wedding. With so many non-motherfuckin' factors like Evelyn Rosado's wedding to Chad Ochocinco and Kim Zolciak's wedding to Atlanta Falcon Kroy Bierman, we could use a fabulously gay wedding on TV.
