As you all know singer George Michael is still in a Vienna hospital battling a terrible bout with pneumonia. While many rumors have been circulating as to the cause, the 48-year-old's publicist wants everyone to know that George does not have AIDS. In fact, the publicist couldn't even bring himself to say the word. Really? It's been 30 years that we've been in this fight and people still treat the disease as if you're saying Lord Voldemort's name.
I don't know if for sure that George is positive, but it would be a hard pill to swallow if he wasn't based on his notorious past with public sex and frequent drug use. As someone like myself who is negative, having HIV should not be looked at as the worst thing in the world or the kind of publicity that would ruin your career. Singer Andy Bell from Erasure is HIV+ and he's not only in the best shape of his life, but he put on one of the best shows I've seen in a long time when the synth pop band performed old and new cuts at Terminal 5 back in September. So in the meantime, focus on getting George better and less on all the speculations people are making on the blogs.
