FAST 6 & 7 CURRENTLY IN THE WORKS

The first time I saw The Fast and the Furious 10 years ago, never in a million years would I have imagined that there would be countless sequels to follow. After the success of Fast 5 (which thanks to the addition of Dwayne Johnson saved the franchise from being another drab sequel about car racing), it was only a matter of time before we got another film.

Director Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Fast 5) has signed on once again to helm the sixth installment of the series, which will be split in two parts. Actor Vin Diesel, who is currently shooting the third Riddick movie told The Hollywood Reporter, “with the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space.” Diesel also went on to say that screenwriter Chris Morgan is currently working on the scripts for the films which are rumored to be titled Fast Six and Fast Seven.

I understand Universal doesn't have that many franchises on their roster that is guaranteed to bring in money every summer, but how about we bring some new ideas into the fold? As I said before I loved the energy that The Rock brought to Fast 5, and with 2 Fast 2 Furious' Eva Mendes and Michelle Rodriguez returning to the franchise, I'm sure Fast 6 & 7, which will be loaded with action is starting to wear out it's welcome.
